Lola Nico is an American drummer. She is from Northeast Florida with Armenian and French roots where she began playing drums at the age of 5 learning from John Kirkland, son of the well-known drummer Ricky Kirkland. At 13 years old she formed a rock band, Young for A Day. Covering songs from Rage Against The Machine to System Of A Down, they went on to perform in front of large audiences at music festivals and venues.
She has continued playing professionally along the East Coast for the past 9 years, including shows with blues artists David Julia, Marina Crouse, Eric Gales and blues legend Bob Margolin. She has a BA degree in Music Performance from the University of North Florida and competed in three different drumlines, becoming the first female snare player in each one.
Lola is based in Atlanta, Ga, pursuing music and acting for TV/Film. She is currently touring with the Vienna Light Orchestra for their 'The Greatest Showman" tour. She creates popular drum videos with over 100k views on social media, and has broken into the Atlanta music scene playing live and recording sessions as a freelance drummer with a variety of bands. She has also been a drum teacher for 6 years. Some of her influences are Clyde Stubblefield, Tony Royster Jr, Anika Nilles, and Chad Sexton. Her experience covers a wide variety of genres, including funk, rock, blues, pop, country, Latin, reggae, worship music and more.
